A total of 350 beneficiaries availed of the medical services that Perpetual Help Medical Center – Las Piñas (PHMC-LP) provided during “Mission Maginoo,” a medical mission that was organized by the Southridge Student Council to celebrate PAREF Southridge’s 45th Founding anniversary. The medical mission took place on Saturday, March 23
Together with the Dalta Jonelta Foundation Inc., PHMC-LP brought a team of 25 personnel composed of nurses, volunteer doctors and staff from the Mind Care Center and Women’s Health Center to PAREF Southridge. The team was supported by sponsors who provided micral, uric and sugar tests.
The medical mission kicked off with a talk given by Marc Cabisuelas, PHMC-LP’s Infection Control and Prevention Unit Senior Nurse Specialist, on the importance of hand washing hygiene.
Since the medical mission was conducted during Women’s Month, PHMC-LP took advantage of the opportunity to promote women’s health by giving out purple balloons. The Mind Care Center kept the children busy during the medical mission with art therapy.
“Mission Maginoo” is a one-day medical mission which aims to benefit around 150 Southridge auxillary staff which includes the guards, janitors, cafeteria staff, among others.
This year, the student council decided to extend the medical mission to an additional 150 household helpers of Southridge families (maids, drivers, and others). This is the student council’s way of giving back and showing their appreciation to those who keep their students and families safe.
